Approximately 18% of the population moves every year, which guarantees that almost every marketing database will have outdated address information. The USPS® estimates that 8% of all Standard Mail is undeliverable due to incorrect addresses; the largest reason being outdated addresses.

Mailing to outdated addresses means lost opportunities, lost sales and wasted money. NCOALink® , commonly referred to as NCOA, identifies changes of address on both consumer and business records, saving you printing and postage costs. Best of all, your valuable customers’ records are updated ensuring they receive current and future mailings.

There are two NCOALink® options, 48 month or 18 month update. We recommend the full 48 month process to capture the most updates. Where a client feels their address information is current, they may opt for the 18 month NCOALink® option. However, we often find 20% more matches when going back the whole 48 months.

Approximately 40 million COA's are filed annually, and the database is updated on a weekly basis. New address information is provided only when the NCOALink® and input name and address match. NCOALink® also includes other requisite USPS® processes; CASS & DPV®, that will standardize and grade the deliverability of each address, LACSLink® which updates your addresses as a result of 911 municipal conversions and SuiteLink®, which appends missing secondary address information to business records.

NCOALink® - Return Codes

All records processed through NCOALink® receive a return code. This return code provides information about what NCOA type of match was found for each record. Anchor assists mailers in analyzing the type and number of return codes to determine whether to mail or not. NCOALink® and DPV® footnotes are also returned as part of the output.

Anchor offers NCOALink® online processing 24/7 and the process is fully automated. All processing is done in-house, in our USPS® approved and SOC SSAE 16 secure facility.
